Origin

In 2012, Pier49 began with a few people gathered in a living room, hungry for real community and a faith that changes everyday life.

Today we are four churches across Brazil, still guided by the same conviction: local congregations are anchors of hope, healing, and purpose in their cities.

Ed Rocha, together with his wife Dani, founded Pier49 and currently serve as spiritual supervisors of the movement.

The network includes Pier49 Music — a music ministry with a large following on social media — and local churches led by pastors who share vision while serving their unique communities.

God is real — and He loves you

We believe in one God who created everything and who passionately loves every person. He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — one God in three persons, eternal and good.

Jesus is the center of everything

We believe Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again, and is alive today. Through Jesus, anyone can be forgiven, restored, and brought close to God. He is not a symbol — He is our Savior and Lord.

The Holy Spirit gives us life

We believe the Holy Spirit is God present with us now. He guides, comforts, and empowers us to live differently — with the character and heart of Jesus.

The Bible is our foundation

We believe the Scriptures are God's word — inspired, trustworthy, and alive. The Bible is our guide for faith, life, and how we become more like Jesus.

Everyone needs grace

We believe every person has fallen short of God's best — and that no one earns salvation by being good enough. God offers forgiveness and new life as a gift, received through faith in Jesus.

The church: house of God and body of Christ

Scripture calls the church the house of God (1 Timothy 3:15), the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27), and the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25–32): a covenant people united by the Spirit. At Pier49, we pursue real love — welcoming, honest, and sacrificial — grounded in Christ, not in performance or control. You can come as you are. We are not looking for perfect people; we are learning to follow Jesus together.

Discipleship is a way of life

Pier49 is an organic discipleship movement. Our mission is to help people become disciples of Jesus — with His character and His heart — so that God's Kingdom is established on earth as it is in heaven.

Love that reaches outward

We believe faith is not only personal — it transforms families, neighborhoods, and cities. We serve others, practice generosity, and work for justice and hope in the world, following the example of Jesus.
